Buy 13 Medium Writers a Cup of Coffee

I like to think of myself as a reader’s reader, but I’ll level with you: I do almost all my reading on my phone. And yet it satisfies some prehistoric, reptilian part of my brain to hold in my hands an actual paper copy of something I’ve written.

I just received in the mail a journal-type compilation that Chris Sowers, the editor of Tell Your Story put together. It is made of paper and it contains short non-fiction pieces by 13 Medium writers. My story is about how I ate a whole bag of fortune cookies and puked. But don’t let that deter you! There are genuinely good stories in there, too.

As of right now, you can only get the version made from dead trees, but it’s so papery and pleasing to the touch. Best of all, Chris is splitting all the profits from the sale of this book with all the contributors, so if you buy it, it’s like kicking in on a coffee for 13 Medium writers.* Here’s the link if you want to get a copy.

*I’m told that there are writers who do not drink coffee, but I give that theory little credence.
